Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Baxiangling-Dingpo of Zhongzan cattle farm, 90 km southeast of Batang County, Sichuan. It was named by the No. 3 Regional Geological Survey Party of Sichuan Bureau of Geology in 1972.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. The lower (?) part consists of gray and light-gray massive crystalline limestones, locally with ooids and intermittent siliceous bands; the upper (? – original text also said 'lower') part is of flesh-red, light-gray and gray-white thin- to moderately thick-bedded compact limestones, locally with oolitic textures. 112.62−161.16 m thick.

Upper (?) part yields Corals Dibunophyllum sp., Arachnolasma sinense, Corwenia cf. rugosa and Kueichouphyllum sp.; Fusulinids Eostaffella irenae, etc.,
